A prime example of the fine art of tyranny as police officers uses a taser on a student who doesn't want to stop speaking... Unless, of course he was a threat while lying handcuffed on the floor... Here are two clips from youtube: Being a big brother and, back in the days, kind of a bully myself I find I can understand the psychology behind what these police officers are doing... Don't get me wrong! I understand it, but I also strongly condemn it. When I was around fifteen, I could get into the same kind of mental state these police officers seems to be in. Some one you wanted to shut up, just didn't. Whatever you said, however you tried to threaten them, they just kept going on in their own world, talking almost to themselves. Finally, when you got fed up, you punched their nose... or as in this case, taser them... Of course, neither, I back then, nor the police officers in this clip seems to get the simple fact that if you use force, hand cuff them, sit on them, or whatever, and they still want to fight back, their only weapon is going to be their mouth. Now to the mental state. You have a person talking to you and "resisting" you... okay, he's tied up, cuffed, or sat upon, but you kinda forget that... his mouth keeps going so he must be resisting... right? Resistance has to be dealt with harshly... I'm guessing in a state like the US where there seems to be some kind of war going on, looking weak will be really bad for the state's finest. Well... I'd like to think I've grown up since I was fifteen, but to be on the safe side, I've opted out of a career in law enforcement or similar branches... perhaps the tasering officer should take the same option? On the other hand, I guess we should be happy they had the taser and didn't decided to use their guns instead... Now for a mental excercise: This guy is apparently American, probably not a terrorist... and they treat him like this... kinda gets you wondering how they treat those who they believe to be terrorists... (Perhaps the terrorist police doesn't have tasers to complement their guns?) |
